Position Summary:
The Application Specialist provides support to the IT Department in custom software application development, feature enhancement, integration and other upgrades, with emphasis on cloud-hosted application on Quickbase platform.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Enhances and maintains applications hosted on Quickbase platform by:

• Effectively communicates with end users to understand the business logics, workflows and user requirements
• Understands and connects source data, which may come from SalesForce and DropBox
• Models, proposes and demonstrates computational solutions to end users and obtain user feedback
• Reviews and understands logic and code of existing applications
• Codes and implements solution to satisfy end user requirements

• As well as:

• Reads and understands platform vendor documentation
• Maintains compartmented development and test environment
• Follows Alturas SOPs and industry standards in terms of SDLC
• Works closely with validation personnel when applicable
• Coordinates with Systems Administration, end users, QC, QA and TFM for release and migration of production data
• Safe-keeps source code
• Maintains applications when user requirements or platform changes
• Authors user guides and documentation, when applicable
• Trains end users

Additional Duties and Tasks:

• Escalates various platform related issues to vendor support
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer science, MIS (Management Information Systems) or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology with 1-2 years of actual working experience in Quickbase application, add-on building and/or integration
• Working experience with SalesForce platform is a plus
• Experience in SQL and/or Oracle SQL language is a plus
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify the appropriate personnel for this position

Skills and Abilities Requirements:

• Excellent understanding of no-code/low-code Quickbase development process
• Good understanding of no-code/low-code of SalesForce development is a plus
• Knowledge and experience in database entity relationship and design principles SQL language is desired
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong logical reasoning and analysis
• Knowledge and experience in web programming languages, e.g. JavaScript and HTML
• Good understanding of coding standards and best practices
• Familiarity with API, webhook and pipeline
• Familiarity with web app secure coding practices, e.g. OWASP
• Familiarity with popular web browsers
• Skills with various development and/or debug tools as appropriate for the development tasks
• Able to learn new tools and skills
• Excellent understanding of 21 CFR Part 11 (can be obtained by on-the-job training)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to alternate sitting and standing for up to 8 hours per day
• Must be able to sit in front of a computer monitor for up to 8 hours per day
• Position requires talking or hearing less than 1/3 of the time
• Position requires lifting up to 30 lbs. less than 1/3 of the time
