Current Status and Alturas’ Ongoing Response to COVID-19

Physical Facilities

In 2016, a 5,000 square foot expansion was completed to accommodate our growth. The state of the art facility was built to specification as a bioanalytical research laboratory, including two separate LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instrumentation laboratories, a large dedicated sample preparation area, and an ultra-modern temperature monitoring and security system. Alturas is also equipped with Class II Type A biohazard hoods to handle all biohazardous materials.

The entire facility is connected to an uninterruptable power supply (UPS), with generator backup to ensure a constant and controlled flow of current through the facility and equipment. This system-wide UPS provides our sponsors with confidence that data and sample integrity are preserved during unforeseen outages.

Sample Storage and Archives

Alturas Analytics maintains a large freezer storage area with strict temperature requirements (-20° to -70° C) for all study samples, as well as a segregated sample log-in area to handle study sample shipping and receiving. All test facilities, study sample storage and archives enjoy comprehensive electronic monitoring for integrity and security 24/7.

Licenses and Security

  • DEA licensed for schedule II-IV controlled substances and biohazardous materials
  • Facility-wide environmental monitoring
  • Fully secured facilities with 24/7 monitoring
  • Generator back-up for facility and instrumentation protection
  • Fireproof server room with 24/7 alarm monitoring

Alturas Analytics is located in the Pacific Northwest, less than eight miles from two major academic research institutions, the University of Idaho and Washington State University. This desirable proximity allows access to talented scientists with the added benefit of high retention of valuable team members. The low humidity and stable climate make it an ideal location for a laboratory. Alturas Analytics is easily accessible through Spokane International Airport (GEG), Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport (LWS), and the Moscow-Pullman Regional Airport (PUW).
