Technical Writer 

The Technical Writer is responsible for writing all regulatory related and required documents as well as other business documents and correspondence.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Prepares final reports per Alturas Analytics, Inc. and client guidelines including spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, etc.
  • Verifies that the raw data used in the final report was captured correctly for the final report preparation
  • Prepares manuscripts, presentations, SOPs, test methods, or other technical documents as requested by senior personnel 
  • Works closely with the project lead and/or personnel responsible for the generation of a specific report to ensure time lines and quality issues are addressed
  • Distributes reports to clients
  • May perform QC review of data if needed
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological or chemistry science preferred
  • Two years of technical or professional writing experience
  • Excellent knowledge of complete MS Office suite
  • Excellent knowledge of complete Adobe Acrobat suite
  • Previous experience in a chemistry or bioanalytical laboratory testing facility is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify the appropriate personnel for this position

Principal Investigator 

The Principal Investigator is experienced in LC-MS/MS and responsible for method development, method validation, analysis of samples, and generation of plans, data, reports and other applicable documentation to support drug development studies according to, and within compliance of, all applicable procedures and regulations. CRO, forensic lab, or clinical lab experience preferred. 

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Acts as a project manager to ensure projects are kept on-track
  • Ensures that project details (e.g., time lines, data, reports) are reported fully to laboratory management and clients
  • Acts as a Study Director or Principal Investigator for nonclinical and clinical studies
  • Provides scientific expertise in the development of methods and method validations
  • Acts as a resource for lab personnel regarding operations of the laboratory
  • Provides technical training to other employees on laboratory skills, procedures, systems
  • Develops and validates methods in accordance with procedures, regulations, and guidelines
  • Analyzes samples and generates data and reports in accordance with procedures, regulations and guidelines
  • Maintains laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting and repair of LC/MS/MS and GC/MS/MS analyzers
  • Works closely with QA personnel to ensure compliance
  • Evaluates equipment, procedures and techniques to improve laboratory procedures
  • Prepares laboratory technical procedures
  • Prepares and/or reviews correspondence, notifications, reports and other documents
  • May fulfill a supervising role for other laboratory or facility personnel

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) plus 2 years work experience or a Bachelors degree in chemistry, or related field plus 4 years work experience
  • Work experience in a CRO, forensic lab, clinical bioanalytical and/or chemistry laboratory preferred including experience in method development and validation, analytical instrument maintenance, data acquisition and management, and sample analysis
  • 1-3 years minimum of supervisory or managerial experience in a laboratory setting preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and other regulatory guidance preferred
  • Working knowledge of complete MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify the appropriate personnel for this position

Inside Sales Associate 

Initiates sales functions for the biotech company to attract new and maintain existing contracts for bioanalytical research. The Inside Sales Associate will discover sales opportunities, follow up on leads, coordinate with customers, and work closely with the BD Director and others to drive business expansion/new contracts. Salary is DOE.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Develop leads and assist in customer discovery
  • Complete sales calls and answer questions about services offered and direct calls to the BD Director
  • Enter all lead information into CRM and maintain and refresh the database as deemed necessary
  • Drive market share for bioanalytical services through strong customer account management
  • Identify growth opportunities to provide value and increase sponsor retention and conversion.
  • Achieve monthly key performance indicators, which includes but is not limited to call volume, % of calls leading to a contract, booked volume, revenue, market share, and contact of base accounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, strong work ethic, motivation, and drive to effectively build relationships with customers in a competitive sales environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Requires a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years directly related and progressively responsible sales experience. 

- Bachelor's Degree (required) with Science designation (preferred)
