Our state-of-the-art facilities were built to specification as a bioanalytical research laboratory.

Our laboratories include comprehensive LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instrumentation, spacious sample preparation areas, and a dedicated specimen accessioning and processing laboratory. Alturas is also equipped with Class II Type A biohazard hoods. Critical operations are connected to uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) with generator backups for constant and controlled current flow.

A 17,000 sq. ft., built-to-specification expansion occupies the lots adjacent to the main facility located at Alturas Technology Park. This extension has provided us the opportunity to plan and incorporate design features to further our efforts of sustainability.

Sample Storage and Archives

Alturas Analytics maintains a large freezer storage area with strict temperature requirements (-20° and -70° C) for all study samples, as well as a segregated sample management laboratory for study sample receipt and accessioning. Testing facilities, sample storage, and archives are electronically monitored for integrity and security 24/7.

Licenses and Security

  • DEA licensed for schedule II-IV controlled substances and biohazardous materials
  • Facility-wide environmental monitoring
  • Fully secured facilities with 24/7 monitoring
  • Generator back-up for facility and instrumentation protection
  • Fireproof server room with 24/7 alarm monitoring

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Developing life-saving therapies requires global cooperation from all facets of the pharmaceutical industry and its supporting industries as well. Coordination of this magnitude is reliant on transportation, chemical, energy, and supply consumption – all contributors to a less desirable carbon footprint. Alturas is acutely focused on reducing our footprint to responsibly offset the effects of our industry to the environment.

Laboratory plastics do not need to end up in the land fill. We can make a difference. Alturas recycles roughly 1.5 tons of plastic annually, saving it from the landfill. Alturas participates in the following programs:

  • TREX recycling of all clean plastics – community campaign donation ~20 lbs. per month
  • All clean #5 plastics ~300 lbs. per month
  • Battery and Shoe Recycling programs – twice a year
  • Self-propel program – employees receive a bonus when they ride/walk/run/ski to work

Location

Our proximity to two major academic research institutions allows access to talented scientists with the added benefit of high retention of valuable team members. The low humidity and stable climate make it an ideal location for a laboratory. Alturas Analytics is easily accessible through Spokane International Airport (GEG), Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport (LWS), and the Moscow-Pullman Regional Airport (PUW).
