Data quality is crucial in clinical research. Even minor problems in sample collection metadata can lead to delays in studies, raise the issues of regulatory compliance and, therefore, question the accuracy of the results. This session will present a case study exploring the discovery of an error in metadata during a routine check and the solution that followed. It will also explain the best practices for avoiding the same kind of problems in the future and guarantee the correct handling of sample metadata. An analysis of what constitutes a good sample management team will focus on the work and supervision required to guarantee the accuracy of the data as well as the efficiency of the communication between the labs, CRO, and sponsor.
