Configuring a successful Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)-compliant archive is central for ensuring the integrity and accessibility of study and facility-related documentation. There are some key strategies for effective study data management within a GLP framework that can be taken from traditional archival theory and best practices. A successful archive consists of a structured data organization system that facilitates orderly storage, expedient retrieval, and long-term preservation. While it is better to start this process early, it never too late to implement some basic best practices that will ultimately contribute to a GLP archive that will grow with your company. Not only will implementing these theories allow for scalability of your organization, it will take the pressure off your archivist and QA auditors especially when the regulatory authorities make an appearance at your facility.
